LUNA®Cide-BT （Tralopyril）
Insoluble in water LUNA®Cide-BT is a kind of white or off white powder with the chemical component named Tralopyril which is nonmetallic organic matter. LUNA®Cide-BT is metal-free and represents the latest generation of active ingredients for anti-fouling paints for ships and other marine structures.
It is about eight times more active than copper against marine hard fouling organisms as well it has low water solubility and resists leaching LUNA®Cide-BT containing paints can provide log lasting protection.
Depending on the paint formulation, LUNA®Cide-BT can be as effective as Cuprous Oxide at about one eighth of the applied content in the paint by weight. Once LUNA®Cide-BT is released from the paint into the marine environment it breaks down rapidly which is environment friendly.
